Christmas with the Kardashians
No, I will not be spending Christmas with the Kardashians this year. I declined my invitation to hang out with my own uber-cool family.
I saw this article on yahoo this morning. Once I stopped laughing and examining the photo, I read the article. I have to say that a 13 year old girl in that dress is a little disturbing. And I'm sure Kris picked this for her... (No really, I bet she did. Have you watched the show?) I could not even begin to imagine Conner Beth (my 12 year old niece) anywhere close to being in something like that next year!!!!!

While we were in NYC we went in the SOHO location of DASH and let me just say, "What a disappointment"! The decor was terrible and I immediately thought to myself, "Oh! I get it! They are going to use this for one of their episodes.... They will come in and give the shop a complete makeover!" Well, I hope they do.
They should take some tips from these girls:

I did sneak my cell out to try and get some pics to share with my sister....

What do you think? Apparently a New York Times fashion critic agrees with me! (Did you read the article?)

Long time no blog....
It's been a while.... Glad to be back! Instead of writing a novel about what we've been doing, I'll let the i-phone pics speak for me.
A little bit of Thanksgiving

A little bit of driving. Mainly to Mobile and Biloxi for work.

A little bit of NYC

I got to fly home with this guy: (If you're a SEC football fan, then you know who he is and if your a STATE fan then you know why he was in NYC) ;)
Congratulations, Derek Sherrod, on winning the NFF Scholar-Athlete Award! (I'm sure he'll read this and remember me)

A little bit of the Grand Hotel in Point Clear for the TNT Christmas Party.

A wedding took place right outside of our room at 10:30 Saturday morning...

Now for a little bit of Christmas decorating, gift giving, cooking and getting ready for some R&R during Christmas....
So there's been lots of travel, but there's no place like home. I'll leave you with these guys: (One of them I met at the airport. And no, I didn't bring him home.)

Proverbs 3:5-6
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your path.” Proverbs 3: 5-6
There are times in my life that I cling to this scripture. Today I googled it to see what would come up and the following is something I found:
How to Apply Proverbs 3:5,6 (Proverbs 3:5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart...)
By George Sayour, eHow Member
I want to do this! What's This? ..
Proverbs 3:5,6 gives a blueprint for how to be lead by God. "Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight." (Proverbs 3:5-6, NIV). The following steps analyzes each part of these two verses to show us how we can follow the path God has for us.
Things You'll Need:
An Open Heart
Trust in God
A Bible
1. "Trust in the Lord with all your heart."(Proverbs 3:5)
This is the key to our relationship with God- to trust in Him with all of our hearts. We know from the New Testament that this can only be accomplished through faith in His Son.
2."Lean not on your own understanding" (Proverbs 3:5)
Once we know we are trusting God, we must be conscious not to trust on or in anything else including our own understanding and wisdom. When we do trust in these other things we tend to misinterpret the messages that God is giving us. This makes it easy for us to be deceived into thinking that God is leading us in a direction where we want to go when he is in fact not.
3. "In all your ways acknowledge him" (Proverbs 3:6)
Always give credit to God and not take any yourself. Remember, everything good comes from above. As things go right in your life, give credit to the one who deserves it. Even the air that we breathe is His. As He opens doors and blesses us, we must be sure to give Him the glory.
4. "He will make your paths straight." (Proverbs 3:6)
Once we have been trusting God, not relying on ourselves, and continually acknowledging Him we will see clearly the way in which He wants us to go. He will direct our paths and help us to go in the right direction.
5. Know that God has Plans for You
This is a continual process because God has great plans for us. Read the how-to entitled "How to Understand Jeremiah.
